Norway - Reduced VAT Rate

The Norwegian Government recently announced its planned Budget for 2018. The low VAT rate is proposed to increase from 10% to 12 % from January 1st 2018. The aim of the increase is to gradually shift the tax burden from income taxation towards consumption taxation, particularly VAT and excise duties. The expected revenue increase from the rate increase is NOK 700 million.
